Where are we located?

  • HSCSA Maui Campus is located at 179 W Kaahumanu Avenue​​​​​​​.  Across from SEARS and the Maui Beach Hotel.  Please enter our campus via KANE STREET.  The Main Office door is located on the bus terminal side of the parking lot.
 

Hana Students

  • Please contact our office at (808) 873-3082.  Our staff can set up an at-home CASAS Assessment if you have a reliable internet connection and a computer.
 

Molokai Students

  • Please contact our office at (808) 830-0414 or (808) 873-3082.
 

Lanai Students

  • Please contact Elizabeth Conroy-Humphrey at (808) 999-8960 to begin the intake process.
 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum age requirement of 16 years old
  • All potential students must take a CASAS Assessment (Reading & Math)
  • Adults (18yo and older):
    • Can enroll in the following programs: Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE), or English Language Acquisition (ELA).
      • ABE focuses on building academic skills and career readiness.  ABE students can move into ASE programs and/or build employment skills through the Workforce Development Certificate program or Career Foundations.
      • ASE focuses on the attainment of a High School Equivalency (HSE) credential via passing of the General Education (GED) or High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) exams.
      • ELA focuses on English reading/writing/verbal skill attainment, citizenship, and transition into the ASE program.
  • Minors (16-17 yo):
    • Students must qualify for the High School Equivalency programs.  If students do not qualify, they can retake another CASAS assessment after prepping at their home high school for a few months.
    • Students who qualify with a HSE CASAS score, will need an approved DOE Form 4140.
      • After the CASAS Assessment, a referral form will be initiated and given to parent/guardian to begin the 4140 process.
      • Students need an APPROVED 4140 before withdrawing from their home high school.
      • Students with IEPs, please have the Administrator at your school contact Vice Principal Kurt Ginoza at Maui Campus (808-873-3082).
      • Students’ 4140 may be rescinded if students do not meet attendance and performance targets during their enrollment at HSCSA.
 

Can I earn my GED?

  • No - GED stands for General Education Development.  It is not a diploma, but a high school equivalency credential.  Students can earn a State of Hawaii Adult Community School Diploma by passing the GED or HiSET exams.
 

How do I get started?

  • Please contact our office at (808) 873-3082 to schedule your CASAS Assessment.
  • CASAS Assessment scores will be reviewed and a program will be recommended that best matches your skills.
 

What is a CASAS Assessment?

  • The CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System) reading and math scores are utilized for appropriate program placement.
